    Eid Mubarak Cake Topper

    This blog post is part of a sponsored collection of projects created in partnership with Cricut.* I’m back with another Cricut Ramadan/Eid project. Wow, how quickly has this month flown by? I really hope you’ve been having a blessed month, whether you celebrate or not! It’s already time to start turning our thoughts to Eid. Now Eid isn’t Eid without a feast of a meal. I say ‘meal’ singular- because it’s a solid day of eating and celebrating with loved ones! From samosas and pastries in the morning to…more samosas and pastries in the evening. One of my favourite parts of Eid was the tradition of going around to *every* house in your community/family to ‘greet’ them and wish them a happy Eid. And obviously, you had to eat something when you’re there- it would be rude not to. We often joke that you regain all that inevitable Ramadan weight loss in that one Eid day! My mum used to spend all night making the most elaborate of Bangladeshi sweets but these days you’re more likely to find a beautifully decorated cake on the table at mine.     Ramadan Countdown Calendar

    This blog post is part of a sponsored collection of projects created in partnership with Cricut.* One of the best bits about being a crafter is being able to create bespoke, unique things for yourself (and others!) Growing up as a Muslim it was a very different landscape compared to now- I’m trying to think back to the first time I saw any ‘Eid’ or ‘Ramadan’ products in the shops when I was kid and I can’t really think anything. But I do remember walking around those ‘back to school’ personalised pencil cases/pens/keyring stalls and knowing for sure I’d never find a ‘Rumana’ in there… But these days not only can we buy beautiful products, we can make them ourselves. And it’s really wonderful to have that experience. And now I have a daughter, even more fun being able to share it with her. This year I’m so excited about partnering up with Cricut to bring you a collection of Ramadan and Eid Cricut projects.
